Horseback Riding Camp

Stonewood Day Camps offer hours of riding time and hands on experience with a dual focus: teaching horsemanship; and nurturing the bond between horse and rider.

Kids will build lasting friendships while they spend time riding and learning about horses from an experienced instructor. Mounted games, stables management, horsemanship workshops, arts and crafts, water games, and sports are all part of the fun. This also may include special field trips. Our camp counsellors will teach kids about daily horse care, safety, care of tack & equipment, and riding skills in a safe and stimulating atmosphere.

Weekly 5 day camps are available to children between the ages of 6 and 14.  We encourage first time riders to sign up for day camps before starting riding lessons in the fall to introduce the basics of riding and horse care.  For more experienced riders, the camp is a great way to fast track their riding and learn more advanced skills in the barn!

We are conveniently located in Claremont, close to Pickering, Ajax, Uxbridge, Markham, and Toronto.

  • Birthday Parties at Stonewood

    Stonewood Equestrian is pleased to offer birthday party packages to our existing as well as new riders ages 5 and older. Birthday party availability is subject to our weekly riding lesson schedule and are typically offered on weekdays or PA days year-round.

    Birthday parties at Stonewood Equestrian include:

    • Total duration of 3 hours

    • 1.5 hours are spent in the barn as well as riding and include activities such as:

    • Grooming

    • Tacking up and untacking

    • Riding and mounted games

    • 1.5 hours are allotted to use our heated lounge area to enjoy food and beverages while watching riding activities in the arena and/or playing games

      **Please note, food/beverages are not provided by Stonewood Equestrian.

    Pricing:

    • 1-5 children = 85+HST/per child

    • 6-10 children = 75+HST/child
